A year ago was the first time I saw and felt impact from another female that was younger than me. All I remember when meeting Elena for the first time last year was seeing a huge smile on her face with eyes full of dreams. 

Her dad messaged me that night after the game what Elena told him,

 “If Kelsie can do it, I can do.” 

A year later, Elena and her dad showed up to my game with a sign to support. 

This is what it’s all about. This is why I love the game I play. Continuing to live out your dream so others can see that their dream is possible too. Little does she know she inspired me to keep going.
