In a new interview with Rolling Stone Japan, Paris Texas opened up about the impact Tyler, The Creator has had on them since touring together. The LA-based duo recalled first meeting Tyler at a Mexican restaurant where they talked about their album 'MID AIR' and Tyler shared a bit about the music he was working on at the time, just before the release of 'CHROMAKOPIA.' They admitted they hadn’t even known he was planning a tour and initially weren’t thinking about collaborating. "We didn't even particularly want to work with him. But it's not because we dislike his music, it's because he's such an inspiration to us...So when I first got the offer, my heart almost stopped. I was like, 'Finally!'" shared Louis Pastel. Since then, the relationship has grown both personally and professionally. The duo reflected on how touring with Tyler introduced them to a wave of new fans. “It’s something Tyler thought about early on too,” they shared, “He gave us advice, like ‘Wear colorful clothes on stage.’ He meant to be the main character. If you’re too plain in an arena, you won’t stand out.” Another piece of advice that stuck with them was about crafting a strong setlist. Tyler advised them on the importance of choosing songs that resonate in large venues that could spark more crowd participation. They admitted that not all of their favorite songs may translate well, but have been learning how to get it right with each show @@paristexasusa __ via @rollingstonejapan 📸 via (slide 1) @zhamakthecat 📸 via (3,4,5,6) @jack.balaban #pigeonsandplanes #tylerthecreator #paristexas #chromakopia
