In business, racing, or life, it’s easy to get stuck doing things the way they’ve always been done.  But just because something has been done one way forever doesn’t mean it’s the right way, OR the only way. This year, I leaned hard into curiosity. I started asking better questions, getting creative, and exploring new ways of doing things. I got super curious about what COULD be instead of what WAS.  Once I allowed myself to imagine a new way forward, the puzzle pieces slowly started falling into place— showing me the bigger picture of how I could create impact not just for myself, but for my partners, my team, and this industry as a whole. When you’re one of the “first” to do something (or in my case, when you don’t have the same resources as everyone else) it forces you to get creative. You don’t have the luxury of playing it safe.  You have to think outside the box.  You have to challenge tradition.  You have to believe there’s another way.  You have to be resourseful. It's the curiosity edge.  It’s not just about having ideas— but also having the confidence to explore them, and the vulnerability to admit you don’t have all the answers, but are willing to find them. For me, curiosity has always been the difference between staying stuck or finding new gears.  It creates both growth and expansion. Expansion was my word for this year, but have recently found out that curiosity and expansion kind of go hand in hand.
