The Canadian men’s rugby team has officially booked their spot at the 2027 Rugby World Cup. 🇨🇦⁣

Thanks to Japan’s win over the United States in the Pacific Nations Cup, Canada has clinched a place in the semifinals — and, with it, an automatic berth at the sport’s biggest stage in Australia. 🤩⁣
⁣
It’s a massive moment for the squad, who missed out on the World Cup for the first time in 2023 after falling in qualifying to the U.S. (59–50) and Chile (54–26). Prior to that, Canada had appeared in all nine tournaments, even reaching the quarterfinals in 1991. 💪⁣

The Pacific Nations Cup sends three teams to the 2027 World Cup. No. 9 Fiji and Japan had already qualified based on their 2023 World Cup performance and guaranteed top-four finish in this year’s tournament — and now Canada joins them. 🔥⁣

“Right now, there’s a sense of relief and pride — not just for the 30-man squad, but for everyone involved: the staff, the broader Rugby Canada community, and our supporters,” said Head Coach Stephen Meehan. “It’s a special feeling to share with family and fans.
