Staff photographer @steveklise says, "In my mind, there’s no surer sign of fall in New England than a half-dozen cider donuts in a slightly greasy brown bag served with a tiny paper cup of hot coffee and consumed within ten minutes of purchase outside a barn near an orchard just after daybreak on a crisp morning... but let’s face it, they hold up perfectly well in the middle of a rainy week in early spring, too.
