Don’t grow up. It’s a trap!

🧚 Heartwood, Mendocino CA
Great for groups, with little cabins scattered around giant redwoods and open meadows. There’s a deluxe bathhouse, a well-equipped outdoor kitchen, and plenty of seating. Don’t miss the redwood tree shower.

🧚 Twisselman Ranch, CA
A six-generation working cattle ranch that’s been in the family since the 1800s. With glamping sites, campsites, and great amenities, it’s a top pick for a summer escape.

🧚 Balsam Ridge Retreat, MI
“This place is a Hallmark movie. A Wes Anderson experience. A Gilmore Girls episode. We love it so much.” If campers are saying this, you’ll love it too.

🧚 Camp Carmel Valley, CA
Set on 115 acres, this was once a historic boys and girls summer camp. With a pool, tennis courts, and hiking trails, it’s a nostalgic retreat in Carmel Valley.

🧚 Happy Hollow Homestead, IN
“Under a thick forest canopy in a verdant hollow in southern Indiana, Kerry has crafted a bespoke camp that reflects a curiosity and investment in sustainable living with some modern comforts. The grounds are walkable with a variety of campsites. Fellow campers feel like woodland neighbors without being too close. Kerry, a welcoming host, ushered me from the road through the woods, answered questions, and shared stories of the land. We talked about structural projects and local waterways. 11/10 would return.” This review says it all.

🧚 Camp Nauvoo, CA
Originally purchased by the LDS Church in the 1960s for a girls’ camp, then owned by the Boy Scouts from 2011 to 2015. The Rose family bought the property in 2016 to continue the tent camping tradition and host group events like reunions, weddings, and retreats.
