Vanilla Tea Cookies 🫖✨🌻 These shortbreads are comfort on a dreary day. Paired perfectly with your favorite cup of tea or coffee. A simple gesture of self care and love for yourself or someone you hold dear. The recipe is: 3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup powdered sugar
½ tsp coarse Kosher salt
1 cup unsalted butter at room temp.
¼ cup cold whole milk
1 tbs vanilla bean paste
Add all ingredients to a large mixing bowl. This recipe can be mixed by hand or in a stand mixer.
Mix slowly until everything is evenly incorporated.
The dough should be fully moistened, but still slightly crumbly. Turn the dough out onto a clean counter and use your hands to gently knead. Shape the dough into a disk and wrap in plastic wrap.
Refrigerate for a minimum of 30 minutes. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper while the dough chills. Once chilled, turn the dough out onto a lightly floured work surface.
Dust the top of the disk with flour as well as your rolling pin. Roll out to approximately 1/4 of an inch thick.
Use a tea bag shaped cookie cutter (or a knife) to cut your cookies out! Place each cookie 1 inch apart on the parchment lined baking sheets. Place the cookies in the fridge for an additional 10 minutes to chill before baking. Preheat oven to 350°. Bake the cookies for 7-8 minutes or until cookie are just set but the edges haven’t begun to darken yet. Cool the cookies for 10 minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack to finish cooling completely. While the cookies cool you can work on the glaze (optional). 4 (+/-) tbs heavy whipping cream
2 cups powdered sugar (sifted)
1 tsp vanilla bean paste
Dried edible flowers
Add the powdered sugar and vanilla to a small mixing bowl. Add heavy cream in 1 tbs at a time until desired consistency is achieved. Dunk the fully cooled cookies in the glaze and allow to dry in a wire rack. If desired, Add edible flowers while theicing is still wet. #shortbreadcookies #cookies #bakersgonnabake #teatime #tealovers #teacookies #fairycore #hobbithouse #edibleflowers #
