Take Chances ✨ OUR STORY…

Almost 10 years ago I met a boy at a taco shop. He was traveling and took the chance to say 🙋🏻‍♂️.

He didn’t wait 3 days to call, and he didn’t ‘play it cool’. 

On our 2nd date, he asked me to join for a 36-hour road trip—and I told him he was nuts—I hated road trips 😆.

A week later we packed into his old Honda and hit the road at 3am. I remember being  appalled he hadn’t packed snacks. Never again!

 On a holiday weekend, we hiked up to an empty #AngelsLanding and camped inside Zion National Park (back when you didn’t need reservations!).

For the first 6 mo., we lived 2.5 hours apart—5 hours w/ SoCal traffic 😑 .

Evan drove to San Diego most weekends, and he quickly learned that in order to spend time together he’d need to start biking 🚴🏻‍♀️. 

So, he bought an old road bike and dove in headfirst.

On our 1-year anniversary, Evan joined my Dad and I in our yearly tradition. A 300+ miles cycle down the Coast of California—from the Oregon border to Napa 🍷.

A year after that, the 3 of us biked from Seattle to Canada 🇨🇦. When we finally reached Vancouver I clumsily fell off my bike from excitement, and with a bloody knee—Evan hopped off his bike & proposed 💍. I thought he was nuts, again. 

In 2019, we had spent 2 years saving and Airbnb’ing our 2nd bedroom. We decided to take a short work sabbatical and slow travel 6 countries 🇹🇭 🇱🇦 🇰🇭 🇻🇳 🇲🇾 🇯🇵 . The travel bug bit hard… 

Then came 2020.

…and the great outdoors became the BEST escape. Hiking had replaced biking as our new quality time. 

We learned how to prioritize experiences + budget for adventures, and we built a side business that we’re so proud of—squirrelmusttravel. 

…all while maintaining and enjoying our full time jobs.

San Diego’s still home (and we love it), but we ache to nestle into the mountains someday 🐿️. 

Thank YOU for joining this taco-shop whirlwind! NEVER did we think this creative outlet would turn into almost 70k outdoor & travel enthusiast—we’re so grateful 🙏.
