9 weeks today with a mighty little grape! 💚✨ Believe it or not, I’m feeling pretty calm and at peace today. My default state is relentless optimism, just with a sprinkle of unavoidable anxiety. 

My last IVF pregnancy was the first time I shared a loss in real-time, but it wasn’t my first rodeo. 

I’ve been pregnant 4 times since I gave birth to my beautiful daughter nearly eight years ago. First, a second trimester missed miscarriage- no warning, no explanation- a total shock. Then another MMC around 6 weeks, gutting. Then a chemical a few months before starting IVF, bitterly disappointing. We suspected my losses were genetic in nature, so the successful transfer of my one and only PGT-tested euploid embryo during my last round of IVF felt like a new beginning! Everything was absolutely perfect until 9 weeks (today!), when it inexplicably just wasn’t anymore. Another surprise MMC revealed at my 9 week scan. My due date would have been this coming Saturday and the fear is hard to let go of. 

But here we are, 9 weeks pregnant today again after another round of IVF and another field dose of hope. And a graduation from my IVF clinic right around the corner this weekend. Cautious optimism!
