@matthewriccitello’s breakout Grand Tour saw him win the white jersey and finish fifth overall at La Vuelta, but the efforts of all his teammates and IPT staff across three weeks of racing and four countries played a huge part in one of IPT’s most successful Grand Tours in its history. 

“It’s not just my result - it’s the team’s result,” says the American rider. “I wouldn’t be here without the support of the guys and the support of the staff. We have been through a lot these weeks, and it has really brought us all close together. This is definitely a team result!”

Riccitello is the first rider to win a jersey in a Grand Tour for IPT, with his eye-catching climbing performances moving him up the GC throughout the race, as he went from 11th overall after stage 12 to the top 5 in Madrid. 

Brit @ethanvernon00 finished second on two occasions (stages 1 and 8) on his Vuelta debut, while Italian @frigomarco_ added two more notable Grand Tour podium finishes after breakaway attempts on stages 7 and 15.

Israeli @nadav_raisberg , who completed the second Grand Tour of his career on Sunday, adds: “We did something huge: four podiums, fifth place overall for Matthew, and all of us delivering a fantastic race - one of the best in the team’s history. I had some very low moments here. Exceptionally hard ones. I’ve never been prouder that we made it to Madrid.

“It’s important for people to understand that despite all the hostility, we also received a lot of support. Riders from other teams told me, ‘We’re with you,’ and, ´Don’t give in and leave the race.’ For every hate message I received, I got 10 messages of support.”
