Ford’s 2025 Mustang GTD is a serious performance car with a very serious price tag. But it’s also a pure hot rod, an American-Canadian coproduction with a transmission filled with Mexican gears. It’s the best of NAFTA with a supercharged evil-Chucky 815-hp V-8. Yeah, it’s expensive and heavy and nowhere near being a thoroughbred. But hot rods, by their very nature, are never thoroughbreds.
