Our story this week follows two creative sisters who did just that and changed their careers later in life to follow their childhood dreams! 

“We both agreed we were going to get into what we wanted to do as kids and design something together.”

💥 Meet Katrina and Kelly 💥

KORK began as the childhood dream of sisters Kelly and Katrina, who always shared a passion for interior design, fashion, and the aspiration to start a business together.

In 2020, amidst the global pause of the Covid pandemic, they decided to leave unfulfilling careers and pursue their shared dream. Inspired by an article on eco-friendly home décor, Kelly discovered cork—a sustainable and versatile material. When she shared the idea with Katrina, it instantly resonated. Together, they saw an opportunity to create beautiful, eco-conscious products that aligned with their values and creativity.

During a brainstorming session, inspiration struck: combining their initials with cork, their signature material, they created the perfect name—KORK. That moment marked the beginning of their journey to build a brand that merges sustainability, style, and heart.

Three years later, they are proud to share that Inspired by KORK is now available in over 50 stores across 11 states, the Virgin Islands, and Guatemala. They continue to expand their product line, designing and creating new KORK items for everyone to enjoy.

Their ultimate goal is to establish KORK as a nationally and internationally recognized brand and household name. Along the way, they are dedicated to building a vibrant KORK community—fostering connections among their incredible team, loyal supporters, and the broader community that believes in their vision.
