TOWER TO TOWER! This photo was taken from the tower of the first St. Augustine Lighthouse (the Old Spanish Watchtower) in 1878-79, just four years after the beautiful new St. Augustine Lighthouse tower was built in 1874, and only two years after the Keepers’ House was built in 1876!

This is likely one of the last photos taken from the tower of the first lighthouse before it was lost to the sea in 1880.
