Sometimes, it’s critical to flex. Because a daughter did that👇🏽

Most days, I stay humble. Head down, doing the work. But as I’ve grown, traveled, and built my career, I’ve realized it’s necessary for women like me to flex once in a while. Because we live in a world that still treats girls and women as “less than.”

I want your daughter to know:

✨ I was told what girls should/shouldn’t do—then I did what was right for me.
✨ When people didn’t believe in me, I believed in myself.
✨ I didn’t know how? I learned.
✨ I failed? I didn’t quit.
✨ I can provide for myself, and if needed, my family too. I don’t rely on anyone financially. 
✨ I followed my own timeline, instincts, and dreams.
✨ I was scared and did it anyway.

We’ve seen our brothers, fathers, and husbands flex. Allow me to match that energy: I am a badass. I am a baller. I make things happen. I AM THAT DAUGHTER. I AM THAT WOMAN. Period.

And now I flex because in 5 days, my first feature film, doinitmovie hits theatres. It’s a sex comedy. Some will cheer, some will loathe a sexually empowered woman on screen. Both are fine. Because little Lilly from Toronto worked her ass off for 7 years, put in her own resources, built her audience, and made this moment possible.

So yes, I’m flexing today. Because #ADaughterDidThat 🤌🏽
