#BLPAngels 🕊️On the morning of September 8, Meeks was dropping her son off at school in the South Loop when she was fatally shot in the face during a confrontation. According to police, she was involved in an altercation with another woman, identified on social media as Holly Johnson, who allegedly retrieved a gun from her car and fired. Meeks was transported to Stroger Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Witness accounts and viral videos suggest a man identified as Carlos, the father of both women’s children allegedly restrained Meeks in a headlock moments before the shooting. Videos circulating online show first responders attempting to save her, while the suspect could be heard claiming, “I’m licensed to carry.”

Now, along with heartbreaking footage, the note Meeks wrote to her son is being shared across social media a reminder of her love and devotion in her final moments. 🕊️
