Republican congressmember Rep. James Comer, chair of the House Oversight Committee, dismissed his newly appointed gay Democratic colleague, Rep. Robert Garcia, as a “real big drama queen” after Garcia called for the full release of previously withheld documents related to Jeffrey Epstein.

Comer criticised what he described as partisan posturing, insisting the investigation "is about providing justice and accountability for the victims," and said he hopes Garcia will “mature up and get serious about the investigation.” Garcia, meanwhile, has accused the White House of “a huge cover-up” and criticised the document release as mostly already public.

Garcia left a reply on an interview clip in which Comer called Garcia a “drama queen” on X, simply stating “Is this because I’m gay?”
