Just realized that I wrestled for the 1st time postpartum just 1 year ago. 

I remember how not ready I was for that day at the US Open/ nationals. So many things were going on🤯
- I was breastfeeding my twins & wrestling.
- Part of my tooth fell out and I couldn't open my mouth without pain. Ended up wrestling with a retainer and a mouth guard in top & bottom. 
-My parents were in the middle of a divorce and then being there near each other was messy. 
-We were planning/prepping a move to California. I felt tired. I felt weak. I felt slow.  I hadn't been cleared to sprawl or do much defense or do so many core exercises. I stepped on the mat to see if trying for an Olympic team was going to be possible. I took 2nd that day and realized I could try. I left that event & realized I was tired, weak and slow but I was smart and I was brave. 
I don't regret trying and I'm proud of looking at that situation and saying I'll figure it out. Wrestling is a hard sport and I found ways to bring joy and gratitude into it. Setting these big goals made so many other things fall into place. I got into great shape postpartum. I broke some technical stubbornness that past Adeline had never been able to wrap her head around. I made friends and helped move women in sport forward.

I keep thinking what if I had a little more time to train and compete? They say women feel different after 2 full years postpartum. I'm just starting to feel like my workouts, lifts, body and my family were figuring this out. So much happened in the last year just taking a second to reflect and appreciate the life we built.
