Before you develop a plan for your philanthropy, it’s important to understand what motivates you. There are many reasons why you might want to be a philanthropist. For many, philanthropy is an intensely emotional – even spiritual – undertaking. It’s something we do not because we must, but because we choose.

Some questions you may want to ask yourself: 
❇️ Is there an issue you find to be underfunded or ignored?
❇️ Is there a pressing social or environmental issue in your business?
❇️ Is there an issue that your family particularly cares about?
❇️ Is there a particular social or environmental problem within a country or community where you have ties?
❇️ Is there an issue that has moved you to take action in the past?
❇️ Is there a challenge you or your loved ones have experienced?
