For tonight’s ceremonial first pitch, Adam Wainwright was joined by Darryl Kile’s daughter, Sierra.

In 2002, Darryl Kile tragically passed away at the age of 33 due to early-onset heart disease. 

Sierra and Wainwright are teaming up with Merck to launch Playing With Heart, an educational program designed to raise awareness about the dangers of elevated LDL cholesterol and encourage people to have honest conversations with their doctors about heart health.

Tonight, Sierra and Wainwright stand on the field together as they ensure Kile’s legacy extends well beyond baseball.
