Elvira is from an Indigenous community in Guatemala with strong gender expectations. Through mentorship and support from She’s the First’s long-time partner, maia_impact, roquel_elvi is now the first in her community to attend university in the U.S, where she’s studying to become a global leader and advocate for girls’ education.
