According to tmz_tv, an attorney for the family of #TreyReed claimed that cops initially told Trey’s relatives that he was found deceased in his dorm although police told media outlets he was found hanging from a tree on his college’s campus.

The family’s lawyer stated that the Grenada County Sheriff’s Department (GCSD) visited Trey’s family home on Monday morning to inform them that he had died in his dorm while in bed. However, the Reeds later discovered that Trey had been found hanging from a tree in the center of campus after the visit. The GCSD has denied the family’s claims, telling TMZ that no one had specified the location where Trey’s body was discovered. Mississippi police also claim to have video footage of Trey, but it remains unclear what the footage depicts. The family’s Attorney #VanessaJones, is pushing for an independent autopsy.

On Monday, Mississippi police announced that they discovered the body of Trey hanging from a tree on the campus of Delta State University. Authorities reported that no foul play was suspected in the case. Attorney Jones told the Mississippi Free Press that she feels the university and Bolivar County officials are leaving the Reed family uninformed about the circumstances surrounding Trey’s death.
