Head coach Dan Lewis on Canada’s final #MWCH match: “Poland was a difficult opponent, the best team in the world at the moment, and we knew it would take our best coordinated effort to beat them. Although we didn’t win, I think that we have to understand that we grew quite a bit during the match and especially at the event with a good mix of older and young athletes. ... Now is the time to take a moment and reflect on what it will take to make that last step to the highest level. And that’s the goal we will all be working toward. There were so many athletes and staff who contributed to this summer’s program… . As far as this match goes, I’m just happy and proud of how the guys fought until the last point, they never gave up and fought to the end.”

« La Pologne était un adversaire de taille, la meilleure équipe au monde actuellement et nous savions que nous devions offrir notre meilleur effort commun pour la vaincre. Bien que nous n’ayons pas gagné, je crois que nous devons saisir combien nous avons progressé même pendant ce match et dans ce tournoi, avec un bon mélange de vétérans et de plus jeunes athlètes », a expliqué l’entraîneur-chef Dan Lewis.

« Le temps est maintenant venu de prendre un moment et de réfléchir à ce qui doit être fait pour passer à l’étape supérieure. C’est l’objectif sur lequel nous allons travailler. Il y a tellement d’athlètes et de membres du personnel qui ont contribué au programme de cet été… Quant au match d’aujourd’hui, je suis simplement heureux et fier de la façon que les gars ont lutté jusqu’au tout dernier point. Ils n’ont jamais abandonné et ils ont bataillé jusqu’à la fin ».
