If you’re looking for the perfect spot to escape into nature right in our backyard in New Orleans, head to Sankofa Wetland Park and Nature Trails in the Lower Ninth Ward.  This 40-acre site has been completely reimagined into a thriving green infrastructure project, with more than 500 native trees and plants, new boardwalks, and park benches. The park was even featured in the Hurricane Katrina documentary Race Against Time. It doesn’t even feel like you’re in New Orleans.
