The 16-year-old boy who was killed in suburban Arlington Heights when his e-bike crashed into a pickup truck was identified on Tuesday by school district officials.

Township High School District 214 said the teenager who died was Samuel Alfaro Acevedo, a student at Rolling Meadows High School.

The fatal crash comes as several suburbs have enacted restrictions on e-bikes, including Park Ridge, Hinsdale, Highland Park, Elk Grove Village and Schaumburg
