Today we’re celebrating the 25th anniversary of Loyola’s Fitness and Aquatic Center (the FAC)—making it the perfect time for another #LoyoLandmarks feature.
 
Just a quick walk or shuttle ride up North Charles Street, the FAC has something for everyone. From a 6,000-square-foot fitness center, newly renovated functional training area, two-court gymnasium, and elevated track, to student-taught group LoyolaFitness classes including Barre Burn and Move with Maddie, there’s always a way to get moving. You’ll also find the 30-foot LoyolaRockwall for climbing and bouldering, an outdoor grass field, and plenty of space for Loyola_ClubSports and Loyola_Intramurals.
 
Home to our own LoyolaMSD and LadyH2ounds, the FAC pool is where you can cheer on Loyola’s championship-winning teams! Even Olympic gold medalist M_Phelps00 has made a splash in the FAC pool—setting records, running a swim school, and assisting with coaching for Loyola! Other special guests have included the Ravens and Shaq.
 
After climbing, swimming, or working out, refuel at the brand-new FAC Express—an Amazon Just Walk Out store where you can grab snacks and drinks on the go.
 
For Greyhounds who want to take their workout outdoors—or explore the Maryland area, Outdoor Adventure Experience (OAE_Loyola) organizes student-led outings ranging from paddleboarding and sea kayaking to hiking and overnight backpacking. On Oct. 26, you can even join a special Halloween rock climbing trip or spooky canoeing!
