Randall L. Woodfin, a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., has once again made history in Birmingham, Alabama. On August 26, voters gave him a decisive victory — nearly 75% of the vote in a crowded field of eight challengers — securing his third term as mayor.
Woodfin, a Morehouse College graduate and attorney who previously served as Birmingham’s School Board President, has built his platform around issues that deeply impact his city. His signature initiative, the Birmingham Promise, provides tuition-free college opportunities for local students. He’s also pushed for revitalizing neglected neighborhoods, addressing blight, and strengthening public safety, aiming to bring the Birmingham Police Department to full staffing by year’s end.
The size of his win isn’t just about numbers; it’s about trust. At a time when urban centers across the country are wrestling with questions of equity, safety, and opportunity, Birmingham voters chose to give Woodfin another four years with a clear mandate to deliver.
