GO! ABBOTSFORD. Culture Days is an annual national arts and culture campaign with participation from communities across Canada. 

From September 19th - October 12th, join the thecityofabbotsford as they host a series of free, interactive, and family friendly events. Here are just a few! 🎭🧑‍🎨

PROVINCIAL KICKOFF

🗓️ September 20th: Launch 
⏰ 10:30 am - 2:00 pm

The event includes an Indigenous welcome, opening remarks from municipal, provincial, and federal dignitaries, and programming including live music, cultural performances, exhibit tours, and interactive family-friendly art activities. 

CULTURAL DISCOVERY DAY 

🗓️ September 22nd
⏰ 9:30 am - 11:30 am , 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
📍 Sikh Heritage Museum

Explore rich history and heritage through guided tours of the museum, including a brand-new exhibit curated by ufvsasi, and take part in a fun scavenger hunt with prizes.

COMMUNITY FACES WINDOW MURAL

Join window artist, Bella Nielson, as she creates a mural of our community, right in front of your face… literally! See the faces of the people who contribute to our community!

MURAL WALK and ART ACTIVITY

📍 Starts at aurora_roasters

The first half will include an art activity for all ages, inspired by one of the thereachgallery’s CITI/SEEN murals. The second half is a mural walk, led by the Curator of Art and Visual Culture, Kelley Tialiou at the thereachgallery.

Learn about Truth and Reconciliation, and the history of Residential Schools. Stetís ímexstowx (Stah tee-ss ee-mehx-sst-owwhx) - translates to “walk beside us” in the beautiful Halq’eméylem language.
