The $999 Apple iPhone 17 Air is a wondrous piece of hardware. 🌬️✨️

Few phones are as thin and light while still offering a vibrant screen, decent battery life, solid performance, and a proper camera. It's not the fastest or longest-lasting model in the iPhone 17 lineup, and some will find its single camera limiting, but it's the most interesting phone Apple has made in years. 

Ultimately, the iPhone 17 Air is worth considering if you want a basic, competent phone experience in as small a handset as possible. You couldn’t ask for a thinner, more impressive piece of hardware, especially one with such a fantastic screen, solid performance, and powerful software. Though I miss the expanded optical zoom range of the iPhone Pro's cameras, the Air still takes excellent photos and videos as long as you don't mind a limited field of view. 

For $200 less, however, the standard iPhone 17 is a relative bargain thanks to its much longer battery life, more flexible camera arrangement, and faster mmWave 5G support, making the iPhone 17 PCMag’s best iPhone for most people and our Editors' Choice winner.
