Three police officers were killed and two were injured in a shooting in York County, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday afternoon, Pennsylvania State Police Colonel Christopher L. Paris said in a news conference.

The gunman died after being shot by police, Paris said.

Gov. Josh Shapiro gave updates with state police and led a prayer for the officers and their families. 

“I think it’s important for you to know that these families who are dealing with….they’re grieving right now, took time to tell us how proud they are of their loved ones who put on a uniform to keep us safe.”
