Auburn and Texas A&M have a history long before becoming conference-mates.

The two teams first met in 1911 in Dallas, Texas. Auburn was coming off two wins to open the season against Mercer and Clemson. The Aggies walked away with a 16-0 victory over Mike Donahue's Tigers.

It would be more than a half-century before the teams faced off again. On New Year's Day 1986, Auburn and Texas A&M once again met in Dallas, but this time in the historic Cotton Bowl. It would be the bowl game's 50th anniversary.

In what would be Bo Jackson's final game as a Tiger, the Heisman Trophy winner rushed 31 times for 129 yards and took two receptions for 73 yards Bo would score twice, once on the ground and once through the air. Unfortunately, Texas A&M would win
36-16.

In 2012, Texas A&M joined the Southeastern Conference and were placed in the West Division guaranteeing annual meetings with Auburn. The first six meetings as conference foes would result in the road team taking home the victory. Auburn's first
win over the Aggies came in 2013 against Johnny Manziel.

Auburn would win each game from 2017 to 2019, ending the "road team wins" streak and matching Texas A&M's longest win streak of three games that kicked off the series history.

The 2022 meeting will forever be a special memory for Auburn fans, as Carnell "Cadillac" Williams led the Auburn Tigers to a 13-10 victory for his first win as interim head coach.

Uniform-wise, the Aggies wore uniquely striped jerseys during their first years in the conference. The dual stripes running across the shoulders mimicked the team's uniforms worn during the 1970s. In 2020, the Jimbo Fisher-led A&M team has
reverted to a simpler design worn during the Aggies' last years in the Big 12 Conference. With Fisher gone, A&M has opened the wardrobe back up with the alternate helmets and pants.
