A year ago, #Lionsgate announced a groundbreaking partnership with #Runway, an AI startup, towards the ultimate goal of creating shows and movies using AI.

Just 12 months later, the partnership has instead illustrated the unique difficulties and limitations of the tech and the law, according to #TheWrap's rogercheng24 and Jeremy Fuster.

“The Lionsgate catalog is too small to create a model,” one expert explains. “In fact, the Disney catalog is too small to create a model.” 

Potential legal issues over actors' likenesses are another gray area that could cause headaches as workflows and technology develop.
