#BLPHistory 🙌🏾 In 1864, Dr. Rebecca Lee Crumpler broke barriers and made history as the first Black woman to earn a medical degree in America. 

She dedicated her life to serving communities in need, especially freed slaves after the Civil War, and authored A Book of Medical Discourses one of the first medical texts written by an African American.

Her courage, brilliance, and compassion paved the way for generations of Black women in medicine, leaving a legacy that continues to inspire today. 💛
