First sub 3 in the books 📚 

After 18 months, +550 hours and +3,500 miles I can finally say I feel like a runner (overkill I know).

The night before the race I stumbled upon a post from joeholder that made things clear… “If you're running for time, don't listen to anybody who says time doesn't matter. That's their ideology, not yours. Hold yourself to the standard you set and have faith in the training you put in. Go race that damn clock. Forget about running just to complete. Everybody may get the same medal but not everyone has the same finish time. Go out and perform if that's what you said you would do.”

Reading this not only reassured me that the time I put in was about to be put to the test but that I was ready for it. I definitely still had some doubts the next morning but all those feelings fled after the sound of thr gun.

And just like that it was over.

2:56:39!! 🏁 Still can’t believe the final results.

Grateful for many things but my health and ability to move are near the top of the list. 

Running is a privilege I do not take for granted and I believe the only way to get better at it is to appreciate it. Accept it for what it is and don’t have any expectations. Once you learn to ignore the suffering you start to notice all its beauty. 

I run because I can and I've leaned to fall in love with it over the past 1.5 years. What started off as a bucket list item has snowballed in an obsession and I’m okay with that. 

Thanks to everyone for their continued support over the course of this journey. Having great friends reminds me how lucky I am to have such awesome people in my life. 💕
