Esteemed Tlingit and Unangax̂  artist Nicholas Galanin (nicholasgalanin), also known as his stage name as Ya Tseen (ya.tseen), made a public resignation from his role in an upcoming Smithsonian panel on Indigenous & American history this morning, as he felt it was a performative measure taken by the museum amid Trump's ongoing attempt to minimize and/or erase Indigenous histories. 

“My work is only possible because my ancestors refused to be silenced,” Galanin wrote in his public statement.
