With today’s #SuperBowlLVII matchup 🏈there is perhaps no better time to learn about today’s #pilotjargon term of the month, the “Touchdown Zone.”

While most of us know the “end zone” in football, in the aviation world, the touchdown zone helps pilots identify the area for landing an airplane. 

The touchdown zone’s markings consist of one to three vertical rectangle bars spaced out 500’ from each other on the runway. These markings help pilots measure distance and ensure they make a safe and secure landing. What pilot lingo or runway markings should we cover next? 💬
