UPDATE: An all-clear has been issued. The previous caption is below.

Personnel at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey were ordered to lockdown until further notice on Tuesday morning, the base said on social media. Personnel outdoors were also urged to take cover.

Just before noon, the lockdown was lifted for the McGuire and Fort Dix portions of the campus, but it was still in effect on the Lakehurst portion of the joint base.

The reason for the lockdown was not immediately clear. We've reached out to officials for more information and have crews headed to the area.
