October Galleries at Western Avenue: A Celebration of Place and Possibility

As Western Avenue Studios & Lofts celebrates 20 years as a home for working artists, this month’s Mini Galleries reflect on the power of creative space and the buildings that make it all possible.

At the center of it all is Solid Ground, a special 20th Anniversary exhibition featured in the 3rd and 5th Floor Mini Galleries. This show honors the historic mill buildings we occupy—not just as a setting, but as a foundation. These spaces are where we work, meet, grow, and explore. They are where the artist-self is welcomed, seen, and understood.

Solid Ground invites viewers to consider what it means to have a space where creativity is the culture, not the exception. Where artists are free to be playful, brave, vulnerable, and bold. This is a tribute to the walls that hold our work and the community that fills them with life.

All across the building, our Mini Galleries continue to offer new perspectives, rotating exhibitions curated by and featuring the artists who call Western Avenue home. Whether you are a first-time visitor or a longtime supporter, the art on view this month is a powerful reflection of who we are and how far we’ve come.
