But here’s the truth: structure is the solution.

When you set it up the right way, your business itself can rent your home.

That creates a powerful win–win:

✅ A legitimate business deduction for your company.

✅ Rental income for you — excluded from taxable income (up to 14 days per year under IRC §280A(g)).

Now, this isn’t casual. To make it legit, you need a paper trail. Here are some points to consider:

1️⃣ Board resolution/agenda proving business purpose.

2️⃣ Fair market value evidence (Airbnb comps or event space rates).

3️⃣ Invoice & payment from the business account to your personal account.
