Your CPA Isn’t Dumb — They’re Just Playing a Different Game 

Most CPAs aren’t tax strategists. 

They’re compliance officers. 

That’s not an insult. 

It’s just the truth. 

Their job is to: 

✔️ Fill out the forms. 

✔️ Plug in the numbers. 

✔️ File on time and keep the IRS happy. 

But that’s not strategy. That’s Compliance. 

Strategy is: 

🧠 What moves to make ... next week, next month, next Quarter, etc. 

🏗️ What structures to build ... now and in the future. 

📉 How to legally reduce taxes — and keep more of what you earn. 

Now let’s talk about this trend I’ve been seeing… 

👉 “Send your profits to an irrevocable spendthrift trust.” 

👉 “File a 1041 and assign the income to corpus.” 

👉 “Boom — no tax.” 

🚨 That’s not how the tax code works. 

The entire argument hinges on IRC §643 — 

But most promoters misinterpret what it actually says. 

Section 643 doesn’t say income isn’t taxable. 

It clarifies: 

📌 Who pays the tax — the trust or the beneficiary. 

And here’s the kicker: 

If the trust pays the tax? 

It hits the top tax bracket fast — often worse than if the individual just paid it outright. 

So no — I wouldn’t recommend this structure for most business owners. 

But I’m not here to throw shade. 

I’m here to educate.
