you can order inagarten famous chocolate cake (aka Beatty’s chocolate cake) from goldbelly for US$100 or you can make it yourself! 😜 this cake has been a decade’s old favourite for me and totally worth the hype 🤌

part 1 - the cake layers. 
⊳ I always bake them a few days beforehand when I have time, wrap and keep them frozen until the day I frost and serve it. I like spreading the work out 
⊳ I reduce the sugar to 75% to suit our sweetness preference
⊳ the wet towel strips around the cake pans help distribute the heat evenly during baking and results in flatter tops…easier for stacking without any trimming
