PSA: THERE’S A NEW SEAFOOD RESTAURANT IN AUSTIN SERVING EAST COAST OYSTERS AND MAJOR COASTAL CHARM 🐟

If you’re craving a taste of the East Coast right here in Austin, then fishshopatx belongs on your must-try list! We recently went ourselves and loved it, especially after coming back from a trip to Maine….it was awesome to find a spot serving the same oysters we enjoyed there! 

A SLICE OF COASTAL CHARM
This new East Austin seafood spot feels like enjoying a meal in a quaint small town with good company! We loved the hand-embroidered fish on the curtains, and were touched by the story of the marlin hanging near the kitchen. The owner’s Popi caught it in the ’70s, and it lived above his fireplace until it was given a new life here: a reminder of the good old days at grandparents’ house!

BOTH FAMILIAR & UNEXPECTED
From ice-cold martinis and oysters from Maine to a classic burger, the menu is stacked with  seafood favorites, soups, salads & more! Our waitress was so kind and incredibly knowledgeable, helping us pick out the perfect array of dishes to try. We enjoyed:

🎣  Fish & Chips: one of the juiciest fish filets we’ve eaten; it goes on the top of the must-try list!

 🦪 Oysters & Mussels: delicious & fresh served right off the seafood bar!

 🐟 Rock Shrimp Carpaccio: thin slices topped with mini peppers & caviar

 🍞 Toasted Sour Duck Sourdough: served with creamy rock shrimp & lemon bay laurel spread

 🍧 Sorbetto: double scoop of coconut & lemon sorbet topped with olive oil

FOUNDATIONS IN THE FOOD SCENE
To top it all off the owners have some serious experience in the food scene! This husband and wife duo has ties to some Austin’s favorites: Justine’s, Uchi, and Uchiko, and it’s the same man behind lebeef.burger!

LOCATION & HOURS
Look for the mosaic that says “Oysters” on E. 6th St! Open Sunday-Thursday from 4-10pm & until 11pm on Fridays & Saturdays
