HIP HEALTH = MOVE BETTER, PERFORM BETTER 🧰
-

Don’t wait till it’s too late. Start yesterday.

Strengthening the key functions of the hips such as abduction, adduction, flexion, extension, and rotation is crucial for developing balanced, strong hips that support long-term health. The hip joint is one of the largest and most mobile joints in the body, allowing us to perform essential movements like walking, squatting, twisting, and climbing stairs. Scientific research shows that hip strength and mobility are directly linked to better balance, reduced risk of falls, and improved functional independence as we age (Journal of Geriatric Physical Therapy, 2020). Weak or imbalanced hips can lead to compensations in other joints, often contributing to lower back pain, knee issues, and reduced mobility. In contrast, maintaining strong and mobile hips promotes joint integrity, improves posture, and supports overall movement efficiency key factors in maintaining a high quality of life and staying active well into older age.

Here’s your reminder to keep your hip health in top priority. Where a little attention can go a long way. Try some of these hip exercises for yourself.
-
1: HIP ABDUCTION ( Targeting your abductor muscles such as Gluteus medius and mininus)

2: BANDED HIP FLEXION (Targeting the hip flexors)

3: HIP EXTENSION (Targeting glutes Maximus primary mover of hip extension)

4: WEIGHT AIRPLANES (Targeting external internal rotators of the hips)

5: HIP ADDUCTION (targeting the adductor muscles of your inner thigh)

Hope this helps ✌🏽
