Hic sunt leones – “here are lions.” This phrase was used by ancient cartographers to indicate as-yet-uncharted lands. Lions might have preferred to remain undiscovered: the Roman emperor Commodus is said to have slain 100 in a single day. We believe in seeking to honour these marvels, paying tribute with marquise-shaped diamonds in white and mixed shades of yellow.⁠
