Auburn Tigers vs. No. 9 Texas A&M Aggies - Highlights | 2025 Regular Season Week 5, 09/27/2025

No. 9 Texas A&M came away with a 16-10 win over Auburn on Saturday, using a powerful rushing attack and a steady defensive performance to remain unbeaten at 4-0, while the Tigers battled to stay within one score deep into the fourth quarter.

Le’Veon Moss powered the Aggies’ ground game with a career-best 139 yards and a touchdown, helping the offense total 207 rushing yards against an Auburn defense that entered the game ranked fifth nationally against the run. Moss averaged 6.6 yards per carry and opened the scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run set up by a 38-yard burst earlier in the drive.

While A&M’s offense had its ups and downs, the defense was consistently disruptive, limiting the Tigers to 176 total yards and holding them without a third-down conversion on 12 attempts. Randy Bond added three field goals for the Aggies, including a 49-yarder in the second quarter.

Auburn, meanwhile, showcased its resilience in the second half. Xavier Atkins intercepted a tipped pass and returned it 73 yards to the Texas A&M 2-yard line, setting up Jackson Arnold’s short touchdown run that cut the deficit to 13-10 with just over 10 minutes remaining. The Tigers’ defense also forced timely stops, including one in the fourth quarter that gave their offense a chance late.

Arnold threw for 124 yards while battling pressure, and Auburn’s special teams provided points with Alex McPherson’s 32-yard field goal in the second quarter. Despite being held in check offensively, the Tigers’ defense kept them within striking distance until the closing minutes.

Texas A&M closed it out by forcing a late turnover on downs, securing the win despite committing 13 penalties for 119 yards. Auburn dropped to 3-2 (0-2 SEC), but its defensive effort against a top-10 opponent highlighted the Tigers’ toughness.
