FEATURE FRIDAY // It’s #FeatureFriday with new Second Soloist Francisco Schilereff. Originally from Coronel Suarez, Argentina, he started his ballet training when he was 13 years old, prior to that he did musical theater, tango, traditional folklore, and hip-hop! Francisco started at the "Instituto Coreografico Pigüé." Every day after school, he took an hour-long bus ride to Pigüé, the nearest place to offer ballet classes.

🍿 Favorite dance movie: Billie Elliot. It's one of those movies that as a kid made me feel seen and understood.
👣 Favorite step: Definitely a good waltz across the floor
👣🚫 Least favorite step: Developpé a la seconde promenade
☕️Go-to coffee shop order: Iced americano with a splash of almond milk
🍌 Favorite midday snack: Easy - since I was a kid I have always been obsessed with bananas
🎼 Favorite score: Serenade by Tchaikovsky
✈️ Best place ever traveled to: Spending my 22nd birthday on a boat in Tromso, Norway under the Northern lights was one of those magical experiences I'll never forget…
🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 Can’t live without: My family, they are everything to me
🎒 Essential item in your dance bag: You'll never catch me without pain relief patches or some type of massage ball.
💭 Dream Ballet Role: Apollo, Prince Desiré in The Sleeping Beauty, and Waltz boy in Serenade. Don't make me pick one!
💫 Superpower wish: Definitely teleportation, that way I could just show up in Argentina for a family lunch and be in rehearsal here in the US right after.
✨ Who inspires you to dance: My mom and my grandma! Back home, music is literally always playing in the background. Whenever we are walking down the street and someone is playing folklore music either of them will stop for a quick dance break. Without a doubt, my passion for music and dance comes from them.
♥️ Advice for aspiring dancers: Everyone's career path is different and that is what makes each of us special and unique. As long as you are a little better than what you were yesterday, thats a win for today!
