On Thursday, House Speaker Mike Johnson said, "This is the way the system works. This is Chuck Schumer's decision to hand the keys to the kingdom, to the president."

"They have now effectively turned off the Legislative Branch, the Article One Branch of our government, and they've turned it over to the Executive."
