On October 9th at Bo’s on NoDa bosonnoda Mo Betta Thursdays mobettathursdays, Confluence will feature performances from Braxton Bateman, Harvey Cummings II, and Blackhawk Quintet 🎸

🎵 Braxton Bateman (braxxbateman): Braxton Bateman was born originally in Philadelphia, PA into a family with deep music roots. Later, he moved to Charlotte and was placed into band class where he picked up the horn and hasn’t turned back. This has led to amazing connections and experiences that inspire his music today mainly rooted in travel and personal connections across the globe, from the US to Australia and every country between.

🎵 Harvey Cummings II (harveycummings): Masterful musician Harvey Cummings II, a native of Charlotte, has taken the world of music by storm with his unmatched talent and remarkable versatility. As an award-winning saxophonist, pianist, songwriter, and producer, Cummings has created a unique sound that seamlessly blends jazz, hip-hop, and soul, providing listeners with an extraordinary auditory experience.

🎵 Blackhawk Quintet (blackhawkquintet): Blackhawk is a project co-led by Elijah Freeman (sax) (saxman2024) and Ariel Mejia (trumpet) (chipmejia). Their goal is to bring authentic Hard Bop to the Charlotte area and beyond. Mejia & Freeman have worked closely together, performing and curating arrangements of their own originals as well as bringing to light some of the lesser-known standards and compositions from the jazz realm, specifically in the Hard Bop style.
