We spoke about some of our journeys and experiences before participating in the event's PeacePlayers x NewΒ York Liberty In-House Tourney(s/o to to being paired up w/ coach_ta9 and Team #2 πŸ†πŸ’ƒπŸ½πŸ˜πŸ’ͺ🏽) The 2 day event brought together 26 inspiring young women involved in the PeacePlayers' program from Baltimore, Brooklyn, Chicago, Detroit, and Los Angeles to experience & learn different things through leadership workshops, community-building activities, and other impactful activities. Quoted from the Co-Executive Director of PeacePlayers, Sally Nnamani, "The Girls Summit is a labor of love, born out of our efforts across our five cities to increase access to sport and leadership opportunities for young girls who otherwise might not have it. This event is a celebration of the power of sisterhood through sports and a culmination of opportunities that shape not just athletes but community changemakers. It’s about passing the ball forward, so young women in PeacePlayers feel empowered to envision and own their futures." The PeacePlayers organization is dedicated to using sports as a means to unite, educate, and inspire young people towards creating a more peaceful world. Ever since 2017, this global organization has done just that as it continues to expand.πŸ’ͺ🏽 It was def. a pleasure meeting the peaceplayers_us team at their successful event...
