Former NFL quarterback and current sports analyst #MarkSanchez was seriously injured in a stabbing early Saturday in downtown Indianapolis and later arrested.

According to FOX59/CBS4, the suspect claims they acted in self-defense, alleging Sanchez, 38, was the aggressor. Police say they responded around 12:30 a.m. for reports of a shooting, but found one person stabbed and another injured.

IMPD later confirmed Sanchez was arrested at the hospital on misdemeanor charges of battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, and public intoxication. He remains hospitalized and has not been booked into the Marion County Jail.
