Lisa Brinkmeyer, one of Iowa's most decorated basketball icons, is now taking on her toughest opponent.

Last April, the former drakeuniversity star was diagnosed with a brain tumor. When word got out about what Brinkmeyer was going through, it shocked and saddened the sports community.

In a lot of ways, she and her husband believe she's already won the battle against cancer by exceeding the time doctors gave her. And as she continues to fight, Brinkmeyer, 47, is making sure her legacy lives on forever.
